He was 21 when he took over as our Scoutmaster and from
the beginning we knew he was special.
As a leader in the troop. Doug was like no other.
He was a friend, a mentor, and a rolemodel.

HYDE PARK – Kathleen Gannon-Decker, 50, a 47-year Hyde Park resident and formerly of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002 at home. Mrs. Gannon-Decker was a social worker at the Astor Home in Poughkeepsie. She was a councilwoman in the Second Ward in Hyde Park and was a registered adult leader for Troop 37 for the Boys Scouts of America in Hyde Park. Born in Poughkeepsie on Feb. 25, 1952, she was the daughter of William Gannon and the late Charlotte Ballien Gannon. Survivors include her father, William Gannon of Hyde Park; stepmother, Vera Hamilton Gannon of Hyde Park; daughter, Carrie Decker of Poughkeepsie; sons, Russell T. Decker of San Francisco, CA, and Michael Decker of Hyde Park; a sister, Kelly Burch and her husband, Michael of Raleigh, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Joann Gannon of Salt Point, Robert and Eileen Gannon of Oldsmar, FL, Stephen and Eileen Gannon of Cary, NC, and Thomas and Peggy Gannon of Raleigh, NC; aunts, Mrs. Thomas OHearn of Poughkeepsie and Mrs. Rita Robishaw of Poughkeepsie; several cousins, niece, and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Deborah, in 1957. Calling hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, at the Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Homes Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
